Israeli painter, sculptor and graphic artist. Born in Lodz, Poland, after studying in Europe, he became a key figure in the shaping of the unique style of the Bezalel art school in Jerusalem. Raban was not attracted to the avant-garde artistic styles of his time, but rather to the world of Jewish motifs and symbols as well as the landscapes and human types of Israel and the Middle East.
